Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is a high-octane flight shooting game set in the long-running fictional world of Strangereal, where players take on the role of a legendary ace pilot in a war-torn future.

The story unfolds in July 2029 as the Federation of Central Usea (FCU) collapses under a sudden invasion by the Republic of Sotoa, leaving the nation occupied and its military shattered. Rescued by the aging aircraft carrier Endurance, players assume the identity of “Wings of Theve,” a fabricated legend turned symbol of hope, and must lead a small squadron to reclaim their homeland.

Blending cinematic storytelling with arcade-style aerial combat, the game delivers large-scale dogfights, intense campaign missions, and a deeply personal narrative about identity, duty, and survival, all enhanced by stunning cloud physics and dynamic environments.
